Transits of the Major Planets

The transits of the outer planets, in other words those furthest from the Sun, have the greatest influence and determine the most important events in life. The more distant a planet and the longer it takes on its path around the Sun, the more lasting are its effects. You might see these longer-term transits below for months.

The minor transits, with their rapid movement, only produce fleeting states of mind, or actions of less significance in everyday life. These will appear in your transit report below for a few days.

The information given below is not valid in isolation. One must also take into account the signs of the Zodiac and the houses where these aspects are found. The position of the planets and their aspects in the natal chart must also be taken into account.

The gift of foretelling by the stars requires a lot of work, but also a lot of tact and human feeling. Never make fatal predictions, as everyone can get things wrong.

484 Conjunction Jupiter - Ascendant

Positive longer-term aspect: This transit helps smooth out the life and is especially helpful if other more challenging aspects are concurrently active. You are in better health with plenty of energy that you know how to channel. You are more outgoing and talkative. Luck seems on your side, and you are ready to achieve the goals you set yourself. A good time for your personal appeal, legal matters, and gaining cooperation from others.

Challenging brief aspect: You can have troubles deciding. People around you don't seem very cooperative temporarily. Disagreements and indecision are likely. Inner discontent can lead you to distraction. It's not the best time for being understood.

279 Sextile Jupiter - Moon

Flowing longer-term aspect: You may be looking to improve your home life and domestic affairs. At the root of this is a desire for more security and a stronger home base or foundation. It's a friendly time when you are more approachable and personally popular. Take advantage of this time by resolving conflicts with those in your personal circle. It could be a good time to buy a home or change residence, although you might want the biggest and the best home with the way you are feeling at this time! You have a stronger sense of humor and you seem to derive more pleasure from life. Follow your heart, expand your personal circle, spice up your home, and improve your close relationships. Your sincere and warm demeanor attracts success. Do something to improve your domestic life--whether it's simple re-decorations, bigger renovations, or enjoying family outings.

Your spirits are high. It can be a time of sweet dreams and a peaceful, loving, and happy family life. You might do some work or buy something to make your home more comfortable and pretty or get a room ready for a baby, because it is a fertile period for you. If you are single, it's a good time to meet someone to love. You enjoy going out and meeting people and you are likely to meet a soul twin or friend.

134 Trine Sun - Jupiter

Positive short-term aspect: All things considered, your timing or confidence are strong now, leading to good outcomes. You are motivated and you're guided by a strong inner direction.

-83 Square Saturn - Jupiter

Challenging aspect: You could find that you're less tolerant than usual, and perhaps too strict with yourself. Circumstances don't seem to be smiling on you at times now. You might have money problems, difficulties in repaying a loan, a drop in income, fines, a small setback ... but this can help you slow down and examine your priorities. Take a deep breath. Take it slow.

You may be required to re-align your plans and goals, particularly in business, towards more realistic avenues. Circumstances are such that you may need to pare down your endeavors and concentrate your energies on fewer, higher quality projects. Life situations or blockages bring you to question whether your expectations are too high or unrealistic.

-76 Square Neptune - Mars

Challenging aspect: You may be prone to acting on fear or as the result of an overworked imagination during this rather long-term transit that can last for some months. There is a lot of drama in your life at this time! You are far more sensitive than usual. You may sometimes find it challenging to stay in control of yourself and your actions, and thinking things through is also difficult or less natural than usual.

You should stay close to those people who in normal times reassure you. Someone who is able to reason with you and calm you down can be a true help now, but be sure to listen to that voice of reason!

Although your focus may be compromised and physical energy scattered, there is a strong potential for you to improve your intuition and magnetic powers. You may be in the right place at the right time. The effects of this transit will have much to do with the condition of Mars in your chart. You might be tempted to take shortcuts or you often feel that you don't know where you are headed exactly, and attract negative influences as a result. You may feel uninspired or lazy due to lack of motivation or a feeling of being directionless or anchorless in life. You may have a hard time drumming up the confidence to move forward.

On the other hand, you can be extremely inspired if your personality is extroverted, and/or if you work with Neptune instead of against it. Neptune wants you to become more refined with your desire nature, anger management, and assertive tendencies. Incorporating more imagination, compassion, and spirituality into these parts of your personality will help you to not only "manage" the transit, but to learn from it.

72 Conjunction Neptune - Midheaven

Positive aspect: You are likely to realize your plans due to your brilliant and inspired ideas which you seem to know how to put into practice.

68 Trine Mercury - Lilith

Positive short-term aspect: This transit inspires you to make interesting changes. The usual routine doesn't inspire you today. You might decide to go out to new places and meet fascinating people. You are motivated to do things that you always wanted to do but that you only dreamed of trying. Conversations or observations can be revealing.

55 Sextile Uranus - Midheaven

Positive aspect: You may have changes in your work, which will be to your advantage. You can certainly gain more money through promotion, or you are freer in the work you do. Feeling a little more detached about your reputation now can be beneficial since others see you as cool and happening.

-45 Square Saturn - Pluto

Challenging longer-term aspect: This is a time for seeing what is no longer working in your life, and from this new vision, you are to decide what is worth fixing and what may need to go. Let go of bad patterns, habits, and hangups now. It may not feel great as you do, but the rewards are wonderful later. Facing forks in the road or changes regarding your life direction, ambitions, or career can be in store. If a door closes, it can frustrate you now, but it can also lead you along a better path, it just may not be obvious yet. This is possibly a leaner time for money or support.

41 Trine Pluto - Saturn

Positive longer-term aspect: This transit lasts several months and often weaves in and out of your life over the course of a year or more. It signals a period when you take your responsibilities to heart. You can devote yourself more wholeheartedly to your duties. You may fear not being up to the task or failing in it. Watch for being too conscientious to the detriment of your health or peace of mind. With moderation, however, this can be a powerful time for getting things done.

About the Transit Report

This report is designed to show and interpret transits that are within orb on a particular day at the time of day of your visit. The table reflects transits in effect at the specified time in GMT. Some influences come and go on the same day, while others can stick with you for days, months, and even years.

Why do values and orbs change for a particular day? This is because transits keep moving--they don't freeze from midnight one day to midnight the next. Some faster-moving planets, especially the Moon, move into or out of orb on the same day. The above transits are a snapshot at the current time of day.

What do the numbers next to the transit names mean?

The column entitled "Worth" assigns a positive or negative value to each transit. These numbers also appear next to the transit interpretations and are part of a weighting system designed to quantify the relative strength of an aspect. The larger the number, the stronger we expect that transit to be.

With this weighting system, a positive value/worth is considered harmonious, and a negative value is considered challenging. Factors that determine the Worth value are the nature of the planets, aspects, and the orb of influence.

For example, a weight (or worth) of 35 suggests the transit is a harmonious influence of moderate strength. A weight of 420 indicates the transit is quite strong and harmonious. If you see a worth of -10, the transit is relatively weak and disharmonious.

On the other hand, "Orb" values are the exact distance in degrees away from a transit's exactitude. The larger the orb value, the weaker an aspect is. Put another way, the larger the orb value, the greater the distance an aspect is from being exact. An orb of 0°00' is exact, and an aspect with an orb of less than 1 degree (that is, from 0°00' to 0°59') is considered strong. Thus the smaller the orb value, the stronger and more influential the aspect is.
