Transits of the Major Planets

The transits of the outer planets, in other words those furthest from the Sun, have the greatest influence and determine the most important events in life. The more distant a planet and the longer it takes on its path around the Sun, the more lasting are its effects. You might see these longer-term transits below for months.

The minor transits, with their rapid movement, only produce fleeting states of mind, or actions of less significance in everyday life. These will appear in your transit report below for a few days.

The information given below is not valid in isolation. One must also take into account the signs of the Zodiac and the houses where these aspects are found. The position of the planets and their aspects in the natal chart must also be taken into account.

The gift of foretelling by the stars requires a lot of work, but also a lot of tact and human feeling. Never make fatal predictions, as everyone can get things wrong.

539 Conjunction Jupiter - Moon

Flowing longer-term aspect: You may be looking to improve your home life and domestic affairs. At the root of this is a desire for more security and a stronger home base or foundation. It's a friendly time when you are more approachable and personally popular. Take advantage of this time by resolving conflicts with those in your personal circle. It could be a good time to buy a home or change residence, although you might want the biggest and the best home with the way you are feeling at this time! You have a stronger sense of humor and you seem to derive more pleasure from life. Follow your heart, expand your personal circle, spice up your home, and improve your close relationships. Your sincere and warm demeanor attracts success. Do something to improve your domestic life--whether it's simple re-decorations, bigger renovations, or enjoying family outings.

Your spirits are high. It can be a time of sweet dreams and a peaceful, loving, and happy family life. You might do some work or buy something to make your home more comfortable and pretty or get a room ready for a baby, because it is a fertile period for you. If you are single, it's a good time to meet someone to love. You enjoy going out and meeting people and you are likely to meet a soul twin or friend.

-202 Opposition Jupiter - Mars

Challenging longer-term aspect: This can be a time when you act out of proportion or excessively in some manner. Watch for arrogance and a clouded vision. You may take on more than you can handle in the weeks of this transit. Lack of forethought and not enough prudence could lead to problems or setbacks.

Success and progress can be had during this transit, but only if you are moderate, avoiding unnecessary risks. Don't force anything or anyone. It is too easy to be overbearing. You can be restless on a physical or desire level. You are likely looking for more from life, but you may have a hard time satisfying your urges if you are impatient. Be extra cautious with regards to taking physical risks.

Try not to expect so much from yourself that you set yourself up for disappointment. Consciously slow yourself down and tap into an enterprising, bolder, and more confident nature--the gift of this influence.

-167 Opposition Jupiter - Saturn

Challenging longer-term aspect: Some re-structuring of your life and your business goals is now in order. You may be looking for new challenges, possibly because you are forced to do so (because things are not going exactly as you had planned). You have a desire to grow and expand, but your attitude is cautious. Perhaps what you want to do is not exactly feasible at this time. It is a better time to breathe new life into old plans rather than to strike out with a new plan altogether. Some caution is needed with your finances, although you might get some help from older or more stable individuals at this time. Something is telling you to push forward and to expand and grow, but with a close eye on your limitations. Take steps to grow, but don't overextend yourself at this time or you are bound to face frustrations.

143 Trine Sun - Mercury

Positive short-term aspect: An idea day! You are more inclined to give something thought or to converse with others. Making connections. Conversations are flowing. It's a good time for clarifying a matter, all things considered.

135 Sextile Mercury - Lilith

Positive short-term aspect: This transit inspires you to make interesting changes. The usual routine doesn't inspire you today. You might decide to go out to new places and meet fascinating people. You are motivated to do things that you always wanted to do but that you only dreamed of trying. Conversations or observations can be revealing.

81 Conjunction Uranus - Lilith

Positive aspect: Independence is imposed by Uranus during this transit. You need to be YOU, and a great breeze of freedom pushes you forward now. Make it your mission to discover who you are. After this period of inspiration, you are likely to get yourself in great form to accomplish all your tasks. Everything works if you are feeling good! You gain self-confidence derived from knowing your own limitations but also breaking through some of the self-imposed limits that you once had for yourself.

32 Sextile Neptune - Lilith

Positive aspect: A period when it's best to lay low, seeking peace and tranquility. Your dreaming world and intuition could be fruitful as it can help guide you along the right path. You are tapping in to your unconscious. It can be difficult to free yourself from the need to dream as much as you might try now. You are especially sensitive to everything around you. At times, it can be hard to distinguish between a dream and reality. As such, it's better to keep some things to yourself for now and to watch for being misled.

-27 Square Uranus - Midheaven

Challenging aspect: Your working conditions may change. You can certainly be less independent or you find it challenging to put up with a boss. You may have difficulty adapting to these changes. You might be moving house or making another life change for which you are not very pleased for the time being.

About the Transit Report

This report is designed to show and interpret transits that are within orb on a particular day at the time of day of your visit. The table reflects transits in effect at the specified time in GMT. Some influences come and go on the same day, while others can stick with you for days, months, and even years.

Why do values and orbs change for a particular day? This is because transits keep moving--they don't freeze from midnight one day to midnight the next. Some faster-moving planets, especially the Moon, move into or out of orb on the same day. The above transits are a snapshot at the current time of day.

What do the numbers next to the transit names mean?

The column entitled "Worth" assigns a positive or negative value to each transit. These numbers also appear next to the transit interpretations and are part of a weighting system designed to quantify the relative strength of an aspect. The larger the number, the stronger we expect that transit to be.

With this weighting system, a positive value/worth is considered harmonious, and a negative value is considered challenging. Factors that determine the Worth value are the nature of the planets, aspects, and the orb of influence.

For example, a weight (or worth) of 35 suggests the transit is a harmonious influence of moderate strength. A weight of 420 indicates the transit is quite strong and harmonious. If you see a worth of -10, the transit is relatively weak and disharmonious.

On the other hand, "Orb" values are the exact distance in degrees away from a transit's exactitude. The larger the orb value, the weaker an aspect is. Put another way, the larger the orb value, the greater the distance an aspect is from being exact. An orb of 0°00' is exact, and an aspect with an orb of less than 1 degree (that is, from 0°00' to 0°59') is considered strong. Thus the smaller the orb value, the stronger and more influential the aspect is.
