Transits of the Major Planets

The transits of the outer planets, in other words those furthest from the Sun, have the greatest influence and determine the most important events in life. The more distant a planet and the longer it takes on its path around the Sun, the more lasting are its effects. You might see these longer-term transits below for months.

The minor transits, with their rapid movement, only produce fleeting states of mind, or actions of less significance in everyday life. These will appear in your transit report below for a few days.

The information given below is not valid in isolation. One must also take into account the signs of the Zodiac and the houses where these aspects are found. The position of the planets and their aspects in the natal chart must also be taken into account.

The gift of foretelling by the stars requires a lot of work, but also a lot of tact and human feeling. Never make fatal predictions, as everyone can get things wrong.

332 Conjunction Mercury - Uranus

Positive short-term aspect: You could meet someone totally outside your usual circle of friends who brings something new and different to your life. Your mind is open to new ideas, and your insight is top-notch during this short transit. You might suddenly find an answer to a problem--inspiration seems to come out of the blue. Your thinking is progressive. News is surprising.

331 Conjunction Venus - Saturn

Positive short-term aspect: Problems are resolved with few or no difficulties, and everything is likely to fit into place. You appreciate your responsibilities and the rewards they bring.

-306 Opposition Mars - Ascendant

Challenging short-term aspect: You can have too much energy to spare, and might be imprudent and too easily look for a quarrel over something inconsequential. It can be difficult to channel all your energy. You might be angry, not able to stand contradiction, and you might act without thinking and too abruptly under this transit. Watch for mishaps resulting from hastiness and lack of forethought.

You may rub others the wrong way now, as they sense your impatience or they feel that you're not considering their needs. You might fumble when you go after what you want, as your confidence seems forced. You can feel irritable and tense under this influence. Restlessness and impatience are likely now, but if you keep things under control, it is a great time to learn more about your needs and desires.

Positive brief aspect: Elevated moods. There can be emotional relief in the hours of this transit. Good for domestic, legal, publishing, real estate, promotional, and educational matters, all things considered. A better time to buy a lottery ticket if you are so inclined.

216 Conjunction Mars - Lilith

Positive short-term aspect: This aspect lasts a few days. You are likely to feel in control, in outstanding health, and in exceptional form if other transits active in your life allow. You are inclined to throw yourself wholeheartedly into things to achieve your objectives. You can enjoy great successes now, overcoming even the most stubborn resistance. A good time for you, and you must take advantage of it to build up reserves for leaner times in the future.

205 Sextile Jupiter - Mars

Positive longer-term aspect: This is generally a good time for energy and vitality. You appreciate the physical world and you want to move more freely. You tend to be in good form, more vigorous, feeling quite powerful and effective, and especially resistant and dynamic. This is not the time for idling or dreaming away your days - you prefer to take some action now, and your enterprising skills are stronger than usual. You attract success more easily now--your attitude is that you can do what you set out to do, and then some!

If some level of moderation is employed at this time, this is an excellent period for gathering the courage to start something new. Taking up a new physical activity is a possibility for some. You may attract people who symbolize strength or courage to you, and/or you may develop your own confidence and courage at this time. You are inclined to do things in big ways, and your libido can increase. Positive thinking works very much in your favor. You expect to win, and this attitude can go a long way towards getting what you want.

191 Conjunction Neptune - Saturn

Positive longer-term aspect: This transit reinforces your down-to-earth side. You will be even more realistic, wise, practical, but it also softens the stricter side of you. You benefit from the tendency to think before acting and speaking. You are more inclined to accept all of your responsibilities. Nothing will be due to chance. You seek peace and quiet.

You are much appreciated at work or for your efforts, and you can receive rewards now. You are finding ways to achieve your goals or you might put an idea or dream into reality. Your sense of proportion or balance is impeccable. It's a good time to settle matters and work on long-term projects. You enjoy completing tasks and benefit from doing things step by step.

128 Conjunction Pluto - Uranus

Positive long-term aspect: You are inclined to create something original, novel, and singular during this period. Old habits and hangups are left behind as you embrace a new and improved lifestyle. You may develop or increase your interest in alternative health and mind-body methods or disciplines. Changes made now are significant and even sweeping but gradual so that they feel right and comfortable.

74 Sextile Neptune - Neptune

Positive long-term aspect: This influence generally doesn't have a strong effect on the material level. This can be a time of discovering your more creative, spiritual, or dreamy needs, talents, and interests. There can be less interest in material affairs and more attention to artistic or spiritual activities and goals.

63 Trine Pluto - Venus

Positive long-term aspect: You can be attracted to an unusual person whose charm bewitches you. You are transformed by love and encounter passion that may have been heretofore missing in your life. You may fall in love during this period, and if the transit is already in effect, you may have already met someone who affects you deeply. This can be a very consuming relationship - one that is filled with passion and that cannot be taken lightly. There is great depth of feeling and attachment. You are energized, intrigued, and in love. You may engage in more sexual activity than usual. Alternatively, this can be a time for a new pleasure or hobby that is consuming and involving. This might also be a time for an improved financial state. Strategy in business and with money comes more easily.

Positive long-term aspect: This is a time of a renewed sense of purpose. You can feel excited about your resources, talents, creative vision, and passions. You feel strongly that you can make a difference.

About the Transit Report

This report is designed to show and interpret transits that are within orb on a particular day at the time of day of your visit. The table reflects transits in effect at the specified time in GMT. Some influences come and go on the same day, while others can stick with you for days, months, and even years.

Why do values and orbs change for a particular day? This is because transits keep moving--they don't freeze from midnight one day to midnight the next. Some faster-moving planets, especially the Moon, move into or out of orb on the same day. The above transits are a snapshot at the current time of day.

What do the numbers next to the transit names mean?

The column entitled "Worth" assigns a positive or negative value to each transit. These numbers also appear next to the transit interpretations and are part of a weighting system designed to quantify the relative strength of an aspect. The larger the number, the stronger we expect that transit to be.

With this weighting system, a positive value/worth is considered harmonious, and a negative value is considered challenging. Factors that determine the Worth value are the nature of the planets, aspects, and the orb of influence.

For example, a weight (or worth) of 35 suggests the transit is a harmonious influence of moderate strength. A weight of 420 indicates the transit is quite strong and harmonious. If you see a worth of -10, the transit is relatively weak and disharmonious.

On the other hand, "Orb" values are the exact distance in degrees away from a transit's exactitude. The larger the orb value, the weaker an aspect is. Put another way, the larger the orb value, the greater the distance an aspect is from being exact. An orb of 0°00' is exact, and an aspect with an orb of less than 1 degree (that is, from 0°00' to 0°59') is considered strong. Thus the smaller the orb value, the stronger and more influential the aspect is.
