Transits of the Major Planets

The transits of the outer planets, in other words those furthest from the Sun, have the greatest influence and determine the most important events in life. The more distant a planet and the longer it takes on its path around the Sun, the more lasting are its effects. You might see these longer-term transits below for months.

The minor transits, with their rapid movement, only produce fleeting states of mind, or actions of less significance in everyday life. These will appear in your transit report below for a few days.

The information given below is not valid in isolation. One must also take into account the signs of the Zodiac and the houses where these aspects are found. The position of the planets and their aspects in the natal chart must also be taken into account.

The gift of foretelling by the stars requires a lot of work, but also a lot of tact and human feeling. Never make fatal predictions, as everyone can get things wrong.

256 Conjunction Neptune - Mercury

Positive long-term aspect: You are more creative than ever in your work and perhaps inspired to write and share. You could be interested in the mystical arts, and your intuition is prominent (or you are listening to it more often). This is a longer-lasting transit that can be influence for more than a year, and points to a lengthy period when your senses are awakened, you are extremely creative, and especially expressive. Your speech may slow down a tad as a reflection of your increased sensitivity to the world around you. You are absorbing things from your environment differently than before. This is a good time for writing fiction and any undertaking that requires imaginative expression.

You may be somewhat sensitive to criticism. You are inclined to expect others to be as sincere as you are, and you should probably avoid subjecting yourself to situations that are too abrasive or harsh right now, if possible. If signing a contract, get advice from an objective individual first, simply because you expect the best from others now, and you may open yourself up to deception as a result. This is a good time for all intellectual work. You are likely to resolve many of your problems, sometimes with alarming ease. Your mental powers at this time border on the uncanny. Be prepared to be inspired by a line of thought, event, or piece of news--in a life-changing way.

-206 Opposition Mercury - Uranus

Challenging short-term aspect: You could be too distracted to really get much done now. You may meet people you find fascinating and original but who may make you forget your duties or priorities. There can be tension, unusual thoughts. Decisions can be made too hastily. Stress can make you irritable. An argument can ensue. Watch that you don't rush decisions because you are on edge. Nerves.

Challenging short-term aspect: A time when distractions and dreams can lead you astray or you may lose some contact with reality. You can be prone to forgetfulness today. You might trust people who do not at all deserve it. Watch for taking dreams and wishes for reality.

Positive brief aspect: You are looking to harmonize, blend, and cooperate. You are more attractive or compromising. Feelings are strong and affections feel good. A good time for romance, decorating, pampering, beauty treatments, parties, and social events. Listen to your heart.

132 Sextile Saturn - Saturn

Positive aspect: Everything depends on the position of Saturn in the birth chart. Nothing outstanding, extraordinary or unlucky is likely to happen--sometimes this aspect coincides with a time of dead calm. You might be a little more stable and serious at this time. A rather lackluster period--time works for you and you just have to wait for a more energizing transit, although this restful one can also be appreciated.

114 Trine Mars - Mars

Flowing short-term aspect: You are especially energetic and full of get-up-and-go right now. You can feel recharged on energy levels. You are making important decisions, with the necessary forethought. No rushing in to things! You tend to succeed in whatever you carry out, and at the projects currently at hand. You are optimistic, perhaps unflappable. Your sexual or competitive instincts are aroused.

You have excellent rhythm and timing right now. You are confident, straightforward, direct, and ambitious. You might enjoy competition at this time in your life. Enthusiasm runs high, and you easily find motivation to do something physical or brave.

Challenging aspect: You might re-examine your work, asking yourself whether you are truly doing well or whether a particular person in your life is truly trustworthy. The ideal now is to explore and perhaps live out some of your deepest fantasies and desires. It is important to respect your usual boundaries and a partner if in a relationship. If in a partnership and habits, time, and daily chores have changed your relationship, this may be a time of unrest. You may choose to make a fuss and rekindle their desire so that it matches yours, and work on renewing your mutual love rather than upset the apple cart. Otherwise, it's a time of discovering your innermost or more profound desires.

27 Trine Uranus - Lilith

Positive aspect: Independence is imposed by Uranus during this transit. You need to be YOU, and a great breeze of freedom pushes you forward now. Make it your mission to discover who you are. After this period of inspiration, you are likely to get yourself in great form to accomplish all your tasks. Everything works if you are feeling good! You gain self-confidence derived from knowing your own limitations but also breaking through some of the self-imposed limits that you once had for yourself.

About the Transit Report

This report is designed to show and interpret transits that are within orb on a particular day at the time of day of your visit. The table reflects transits in effect at the specified time in GMT. Some influences come and go on the same day, while others can stick with you for days, months, and even years.

Why do values and orbs change for a particular day? This is because transits keep moving--they don't freeze from midnight one day to midnight the next. Some faster-moving planets, especially the Moon, move into or out of orb on the same day. The above transits are a snapshot at the current time of day.

What do the numbers next to the transit names mean?

The column entitled "Worth" assigns a positive or negative value to each transit. These numbers also appear next to the transit interpretations and are part of a weighting system designed to quantify the relative strength of an aspect. The larger the number, the stronger we expect that transit to be.

With this weighting system, a positive value/worth is considered harmonious, and a negative value is considered challenging. Factors that determine the Worth value are the nature of the planets, aspects, and the orb of influence.

For example, a weight (or worth) of 35 suggests the transit is a harmonious influence of moderate strength. A weight of 420 indicates the transit is quite strong and harmonious. If you see a worth of -10, the transit is relatively weak and disharmonious.

On the other hand, "Orb" values are the exact distance in degrees away from a transit's exactitude. The larger the orb value, the weaker an aspect is. Put another way, the larger the orb value, the greater the distance an aspect is from being exact. An orb of 0°00' is exact, and an aspect with an orb of less than 1 degree (that is, from 0°00' to 0°59') is considered strong. Thus the smaller the orb value, the stronger and more influential the aspect is.
