Transits of the Major Planets

The transits of the outer planets, in other words those furthest from the Sun, have the greatest influence and determine the most important events in life. The more distant a planet and the longer it takes on its path around the Sun, the more lasting are its effects. You might see these longer-term transits below for months.

The minor transits, with their rapid movement, only produce fleeting states of mind, or actions of less significance in everyday life. These will appear in your transit report below for a few days.

The information given below is not valid in isolation. One must also take into account the signs of the Zodiac and the houses where these aspects are found. The position of the planets and their aspects in the natal chart must also be taken into account.

The gift of foretelling by the stars requires a lot of work, but also a lot of tact and human feeling. Never make fatal predictions, as everyone can get things wrong.

304 Conjunction Saturn - Saturn

Positive aspect: Everything depends on the position of Saturn in the birth chart. Nothing outstanding, extraordinary or unlucky is likely to happen--sometimes this aspect coincides with a time of dead calm. You might be a little more stable and serious at this time. A rather lackluster period--time works for you and you just have to wait for a more energizing transit, although this restful one can also be appreciated.

-248 Opposition Moon - Saturn

Challenging brief aspect: In the hours of this brief and frequently occurring transit, you can feel a little overwhelmed with your responsibilities or obligations. Perhaps some misunderstandings are part of this. You may be feeling a pinch or dealing with a "no."

-232 Opposition Sun - Neptune

Challenging short-term aspect: If you're feeling worn out without a physical reason for it, you are likely in need of new inspiration. Remind yourself of the intangibles that lift your spirits. Your expectations may be set high such that disappointments happen too easily now.

196 Sextile Mars - Saturn

Positive short-term aspect: You are very determined and energetic right now, but also patient, and this combination creates successful scenarios. You are feeling strong and able to carry out your plans. You can be hard and unshakeable in your decisions. You realize your plans with the willpower to overcome any resistance.

155 Conjunction Pluto - Uranus

Positive long-term aspect: You are inclined to create something original, novel, and singular during this period. Old habits and hangups are left behind as you embrace a new and improved lifestyle. You may develop or increase your interest in alternative health and mind-body methods or disciplines. Changes made now are significant and even sweeping but gradual so that they feel right and comfortable.

-151 Opposition Jupiter - Uranus

Challenging longer-term aspect: This is a time when you crave release from limiting ideas and situations. There is a stronger desire than usual to be free and independent, and to make some form of breakaway from your past. This could mean a divorce in extreme cases, but can be as simple as releasing a bad attitude or habit. You should watch for exaggerated perceptions, which is something to consider with all Jupiter transits. For example, a tie that previously went unquestioned might now be considered limiting, or you could be seeing people or circumstances as now being "in your way," blocking your desires and plans. Watch that your plans are not beyond your means or ability to carry out. Your emotional or family life could be a little stormy now if you are not self-aware and mindful. Otherwise, if you keep your feet on the ground, it can be a good time to discover new perspectives and methods that you previously hadn't noticed or even knew you needed.

138 Conjunction Saturn - Midheaven

Positive longer-term aspect: You are socially successful at this time. The goal you have aimed for is achieved, after many years of work or of rigor and application. Your success is not only thanks to your ability to work or your patience but also because you have learned from experience. You are looked up to and respected, and your confidence in others is well-placed. This is a good time for gaining the respect of others. The conjunction is a pinnacle time for achievement and recognition--this transit marks a climax or turning point.

109 Trine Moon - Jupiter

Positive brief aspect: Elevated moods. There can be emotional relief in the hours of this transit. Good for domestic, legal, publishing, real estate, promotional, and educational matters, all things considered. A better time to buy a lottery ticket if you are so inclined.

97 Sextile Mars - Midheaven

Positive aspect: You are in top form, full of vitality. Your professional affairs, and your energy to undertake them, guarantee you success. This transit helps you succeed in almost every action, every deed - thanks to your energy, boldness, self-confidence and swiftness of action.

90 Sextile Neptune - Uranus

Positive long-term aspect: This is a period when you are more interested in everything around you, in your social life, and in your community. You are more aware of the problems of society, and your more idealistic side is stimulated in a pleasant manner.

-79 Opposition Uranus - Pluto

Challenging long-term aspect: Dissatisfaction with your current situation can dominate now, and you may feel driven to make changes. You can feel as if your life is in a state of flux, largely because you are impatient to achieve your goals or bothered if you haven't handled long-standing problems. Watch for pushing something too fast. Watch for jumping into or out of something too quickly.

59 Trine Jupiter - Pluto

Positive longer-term aspect: Events occurring now put you in touch with your deeper desires and perhaps your darker side. It's a time of useful and perhaps intense self-discovery. You can be impatient with the superficial. You are extremely resourceful and might come up with a great idea for a new venture. It's a good time for business, attracting customers, making sales, and improving your reputation or recognition.

58 Trine Uranus - Uranus

Positive aspect: There will certainly be a change in your life, and most likely, a change for the better. You are answering to yourself more and more, as you are less concerned with the approval of others. The key is not taking this to extremes, and fortunately, this trend helps you free yourself from certain restrictions and yet stay grounded.

39 Sextile Pluto - Pluto

Positive long-term aspect: This is a time of a renewed sense of purpose. You can feel excited about your resources, talents, creative vision, and passions. You feel strongly that you can make a difference.

30 Trine Neptune - Pluto

Positive aspect: Although you may lack reason and logic at times, on the contrary your psychic faculties (such as inspiration and clairvoyance) are highly tuned.

About the Transit Report

This report is designed to show and interpret transits that are within orb on a particular day at the time of day of your visit. The table reflects transits in effect at the specified time in GMT. Some influences come and go on the same day, while others can stick with you for days, months, and even years.

Why do values and orbs change for a particular day? This is because transits keep moving--they don't freeze from midnight one day to midnight the next. Some faster-moving planets, especially the Moon, move into or out of orb on the same day. The above transits are a snapshot at the current time of day.

What do the numbers next to the transit names mean?

The column entitled "Worth" assigns a positive or negative value to each transit. These numbers also appear next to the transit interpretations and are part of a weighting system designed to quantify the relative strength of an aspect. The larger the number, the stronger we expect that transit to be.

With this weighting system, a positive value/worth is considered harmonious, and a negative value is considered challenging. Factors that determine the Worth value are the nature of the planets, aspects, and the orb of influence.

For example, a weight (or worth) of 35 suggests the transit is a harmonious influence of moderate strength. A weight of 420 indicates the transit is quite strong and harmonious. If you see a worth of -10, the transit is relatively weak and disharmonious.

On the other hand, "Orb" values are the exact distance in degrees away from a transit's exactitude. The larger the orb value, the weaker an aspect is. Put another way, the larger the orb value, the greater the distance an aspect is from being exact. An orb of 0°00' is exact, and an aspect with an orb of less than 1 degree (that is, from 0°00' to 0°59') is considered strong. Thus the smaller the orb value, the stronger and more influential the aspect is.
